H-Arg(Me)-OH acetate salt is a drug that has been shown to reduce the formation of nitrite ion and the subsequent production of NO. It is a small molecule that has been shown to have chemiluminescence properties, which may be due to its ability to interact with nitrite ions. H-Arg(Me)-OH acetate salt also reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines in mesenteric and papillary muscle cells. This drug is used for the treatment of bowel disease, congestive heart disease, bone cancer, and constant pressure in the eye. H-Arg(Me)-OH acetate salt is also an inhibitor of pandemic influenza virus replication.
