3-Amino-1-propanol is an organic compound with the formula CH3CH2NH2. It is a colorless liquid that is soluble in water and polar organic solvents. 3-Amino-1-propanol can be prepared by hydrolysis of propargyl chloride. The compound has a number of industrial applications, including use as a solvent, an intermediate in the preparation of other compounds, and as a reactant in chemical synthesis. 3-Amino-1-propanol is used to synthesize 2,5-diaminopentane and 2,4,6-triaminopyrimidine.
