- acetamide, N-(3-acetylphenyl)-2-chloro-
N-(3-Acetylphenyl)-2-chloroacetamide is a structurally novel compound that has been shown to have broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species in cancer cells and induces apoptosis, which may be due to its ability to bind to the enzyme target. N-(3-Acetylphenyl)-2-chloroacetamide also has anticancer activity and was shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro by binding to hydrogen bonds on the surface of chalcone, a molecule present in many plants. This agent has antimicrobial properties and can be used for the treatment of bacterial infections.
