N-(4-Aminophenyl)-2-furamide is a non-narcotic analgesic that belongs to the group of acyclic amides. It binds to the NMDA receptor, which is a glutamate receptor, and blocks the transmission of pain signals. N-(4-Aminophenyl)-2-furamide has been shown to be effective in treating chronic pain syndromes and has also been used in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia, trigeminal neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy, cancer pain, and other chronic conditions. The drug's safety profile has been evaluated in clinical studies involving more than 4500 patients with chronic pain and cancer. Studies have shown that it does not cause respiratory depression or constipation. There are no reports of adverse effects on cognition or mood when used at recommended doses for up to six months.
