N-(3-Aminopropyl)-N-isopropylamine is a peroxide that is used in the synthesis of ethylene diamine. It can be prepared by the reaction of acetone with hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide, followed by treatment with triethylamine. N-(3-Aminopropyl)-N-isopropylamine has been shown to have labile properties and is easily hydrolyzed to form piperazine. This compound has a high matrix effect and can be used for the detection of silicon. The molecule also has a mass spectrometry detection at m/z = 235.
