2-Amino-4-methoxypyridine (2AM4MP) is a molecule that can be used for cancer therapy. It has been shown to inhibit tumors in vivo. 2AM4MP inhibits the activity of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), which is involved in cellular proliferation and differentiation, by binding to ERK subunits. This binding prevents the phosphorylation of ERK and its subsequent activation, leading to cell death. 2AM4MP has also been shown to induce apoptosis by inhibiting rna synthesis, protein synthesis, and DNA repair.
