3-Anilinophenol is the aniline analogue of phenol. It is a yellow solid that is soluble in water and has been shown to interact with molecular descriptors such as amines and nitro groups. 3-Anilinophenol can be oxidized by photooxidation or hydrochloric acid to produce nitrobenzene, which can reduce chloride ions to chloride radicals. The presence of a hydroxyl group allows it to act as an electron acceptor in the oxidation-reduction process. 3-Anilinophenol has been used as a substrate concentration for linear regression analysis, which includes high concentrations of both the substrate and the product.
