(4-Amino-2-methylpyrimidin-5-yl)methanol (AMPM) is a chemical compound with nitrogen atoms. It has been shown to have a protective effect against bowel disease, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of ATP-binding cassette transporter and enzymes such as alkanoic acid. AMPM also has been investigated for its potential use in wastewater treatment, as it is able to bind to the surface of microcapsules.
