It has been shown that 3-amino-2-bromophenol can be used as a modulator in organic light emitting devices, with the advantage of increased bistable properties and reduced operating voltage. This compound is also a heterocyclic compound with two fused benzene rings and one nitrogen atom. It has been reported that 3-amino-2-bromophenol displays antihyperglycemic activity in diabetic rats, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B).
