Descrizione:
5-Amino-3-methylisoxazole-4-carboxylicacid (AMICA) is a water molecule that has been used to treat autoimmune diseases. It has immunomodulatory effects, and it can inhibit the release of TNF-α from mouse splenocytes. AMICA has also been found to decrease the severity of rheumatoid arthritis in mice. It is believed that AMICA may act as an antirheumatic drug by binding to amines on immune cells, blocking their activation and subsequent release of proinflammatory cytokines.
