2-Aminobutanamide is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of aminobutyric acids. It is used in the preparation of other chemicals, such as l-tartaric acid and phosphorus pentachloride. 2-Aminobutanamide can be prepared by reacting l-tartaric acid with phosphorus pentachloride and hydrochloric acid, followed by neutralizing the mixture with sodium hydroxide solution. The product is then heated to decompose excess ammonia and hydrochloric acid, resulting in 2-aminobutanamide. 2-Aminobutanamide has an acidic property and is used as an industrial preparation for its catalytic properties. It can also be used in kinetic studies because it has a disulfide bond.br>br>Brucella, which causes brucellosis, will react with this substance to form a disulfide bond, which can be cleaved by ammonolysis or acidic conditions
