It is made up of ethylene diamine, glycol ether, sodium carbonate, and polymaleic acid. The pH of the solution varies depending on the concentration of aminotrimethylenephosphonic acid potassiumsalt. When it is in contact with metal ions, it forms a chelate that prevents corrosion by reducing the redox potential. This chemical also has detergent properties and can be found in light exposure-resistant detergents for clothes.
