(R)-(+)-2-Acetoxypropionyl chloride is a palladium-catalyzed transformation that uses mesityl as the starting material. This reaction can be used to produce a variety of products, including hydrogenations, couplings, and cyclizations. Trichoderma reesei is used in this transformation because it has high tolerance for acetals, which are often formed during the process.
