Informazioni sul prodotto
- 5-(Tricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]dec-1-ylmethoxy)pentanal
5-(Adamant-1-yl-methoxy)pentanal is a research chemical that has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of glucosylceramide, an intermediate in the production of cholesterol and other lipids. 5-(Adamant-1-yl-methoxy)pentanal has been shown to be a competitive inhibitor of human glucosylceramide synthase. It was synthesized by reductive amination using methanesulfonic acid as the reducing agent. The 1H NMR spectrum of 5-(Adamant-1-yl-methoxy)pentanal shows a single peak at δ 8.49 ppm and no other peaks are observed in the region between δ 0 and δ 10 ppm. The chemical was crystallized from chloroform and purified by column chromatography on silica gel with ethyl acetate as eluent. The melting point of this compound is 68°C.
