Descrizione

Phenothiazine is a chemical compound with the formula C12H8N2S. It is used in the synthesis of other chemicals and as an insecticide, acaricide, and nematocide. The asymmetric synthesis of this compound has been achieved by using a chiral auxiliary in the final step of the reaction. This synthesis allows for the production of 10-(1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-ylmethyl)-10H-phenothiazine without the use of toxic solvents or expensive reagents such as trifluoroacetic acid or sodium citrate.
