Acetylacetonatobis(ethylene) rhodium(I) is a molecule that is part of the organometallic class of compounds. It has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the synthesis of acyl halides and styrene derivatives. This compound also has the ability to modulate the immune response in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The natural compounds found in this molecule have been shown to be effective at treating this disease by reducing inflammation and increasing lung function. Acetylacetonatobis(ethylene) rhodium(I) is an asymmetric catalyst that cleaves bonds with high stereoselectivity, making it useful for synthesizing molecules with specific chirality. This compound also binds to carbonyl groups, which are important for a variety of chemical reactions.
