3-Amino-N-methylbenzylamine is a chemical additive that is used as a catalyst for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and other organic compounds. 3-Amino-N-methylbenzylamine is an electron donor and has a high catalytic activity in the presence of certain solvents. This chemical can be used to produce aliphatic amines, aromatic amines, and methanol. 3-Amino-N-methylbenzylamine also forms aliphatic amides and alkyl chlorides in the presence of hydrogen chloride gas.
