2-(3'-Amino-4'-chlorobenzoyl)benzoic acid is an industrial chemical that can be used as a dehydrating agent. It reacts with potassium to form benzoic acid and chloride, which can be separated by distillation. The reaction system also has a high yield and short reaction time. 2-(3'-Amino-4'-chlorobenzoyl)benzoic acid is synthesized from benzoic acid and chloroform in the presence of aluminum oxide (Raney nickel) at high temperature and pressure.
