It is used as a fluorescent probe for the detection of proteins, nucleic acids, and other biological molecules. 3-Aminophenylboronic acid pinacol ester has been shown to be an efficient method for the preparation of amines with gold nanoparticles. The fluorescence properties of 3-aminophenylboronic acid pinacol ester are due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds. This compound was also found to be a good substrate for x-ray diffraction studies and adsorption mechanisms.
