C.I. Acid Violet 17 is a dye that is used in wastewater treatment to remove color from the water by adsorption and light exposure. C.I. Acid Violet 17 has been shown to adsorb on the surface of the water and then be removed by light exposure or through chemical oxidation, which causes it to break into smaller molecules. The photochemical properties of this molecule have been studied extensively and have revealed that it has a phase transition temperature near 25°C and its photochemical decay rate increases with increased temperature. The chemical stability of C.I. Acid Violet 17 has also been studied and found to be good, as the molecule is not sensitive to hydrolysis, oxidation, or acid-base reactions.br>br>
