(S)-3-(1-Aminoethyl)benzonitrile hydrochloride is a chiral reagent that can be used in biotransformations to produce chiral products. It is an enantioselective synthesis of the 1-aminoalkylbenzonitriles from readily available starting materials. The preparation of this compound has been patented and offers an innovative approach for the preparation of chiral reagents.
