Informazioni sul prodotto
- methyl N-acetyl-L-alaninate
Acetyl-L-alanine methyl ester is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit the replication of the pandemic H1N1 virus, covid-19. Acetyl-L-alanine methyl ester binds to the active site of the enzyme neuraminidase and inhibits its activity by forming a covalent bond with one of its amino acid residues. This prevents the enzymatic cleavage of sialic acid from glycoproteins on cell surfaces, which prevents viral spread. Acetyl-L-alanine methyl ester also has a functional group that can act as an inhibitor to other enzymes in flu viruses, such as M2 ion channels, or prevent influenza virus binding to human cells.
Acetyl-L-alanine methyl ester is soluble in organic solvents such as carbon tetrachloride and DMF at room temperature and exhibits magnetic resonance spectroscopy properties due to its intramolecular hydrogen
