3-Acetyl-2-chloropyridine is a synthetic molecule that contains a chromophore and electron deficient, which are required for the synthesis of histones. It has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the polyphosphoric acid catalyzed synthesis of amines and aldehydes from phosphoric acid esters. The 3-acetyl-2-chloropyridine was synthesized in our laboratory by reacting naoac with 2-chloroacetaldehyde at temperatures between 20 and 100 degrees Celsius. The experimental procedure was optimized using molecular databases such as ChemDraw and ChemBuilder.
