3-Aminoazetidine-3-carboxylic acid is a synthetic molecule that can be used in the synthesis of a number of different compounds, including amides, peptidomimetics, and hydrogen bond donors. It is also used as a reactive agent in ring-opening reactions to form amide bonds. 3-Aminoazetidine-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to react with a number of different amino acids, including glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and proline. This compound can also be used to synthesize peptidomimetics by reacting with an appropriate carboxylic acid. 3-Aminoazetidine-3-carboxylic acid reacts predictably with alcohols and phenols to form esters or ethers.
