Descrizione:
3-Amino-1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propanol (3ATF) is a hydrogen bond acceptor that binds to metal ions. 3ATF has been shown to bind to the lipoprotein and cholesteryl ester transfer protein in mice and rats. This binding prevents the accumulation of cholesterol and reduces the risk of heart disease. Structural analysis of 3ATF revealed that it is an enantiomer with a benzyl group, which may account for its activity.
