N-(Aminocarbonyl)-N-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Carbamic Acid Ethyl Ester is a nature-based analog of the neurotransmitter GABA that can be used to investigate the function and regulation of the GABA receptor. It is approved for use in animals, but not humans. N-(Aminocarbonyl)-N-[3-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Carbamic Acid Ethyl Ester has been shown to inhibit nerve transmission and enhance the effectiveness of other anesthetics. It has also been shown to have an effect on brain activity and body movement, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme acetylcholinesterase.
