Descrizione:
Methyl 12-methyltridecanoate is a synthetic fatty acid. It is a methoxylated compound with the chemical formula CH3(CH2)6CO2H. This fatty acid has been found to have a viscosity of 0.8 cP and a melting point of -110°C. It has also been shown to be an effective backup for biodiesel production, as it can be used as an alternative to the more expensive fatty acids, such as dodecanoic acid and arachidonic acid. Methyl 12-methyltridecanoate has also been found in some species of plants, such as Argemone mexicana and Eschscholzia californica, which produce it in their leaves or seeds.
