4-Butylpyridine is a heterocyclic compound with a protonated nitrogen atom. It can be found in cisplatin, which is an anticancer agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interfering with the division and duplication of DNA. 4-Butylpyridine has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity in animal models, as well as decrease uptake of glucose into adipose tissue.
