Chimonanthine is a chemical compound that has been used in the treatment of cancer, prostate cancer, and colorectal carcinoma. The mechanism of action is not well understood, but it is believed to be related to its ability to inhibit the apoptosis pathway. Chimonanthine has also shown anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as a health care product. Chimonanthine is a member of the family of steroidal alkaloids and can be found in plants such as Colocasia esculenta and Colocasia antiquorum. It is produced by acylation reaction between choline and acetylcholine. Chimonanthine has been shown to have an activity test against hCT116 cells.
