Methyl 2-(Cyanomethyl)benzoate is an amido-mediated anti-cancer agent. It can be used in pharmaceutical preparations to treat cancer, as it has been shown to have activity against cancer cells. Methyl 2-(Cyanomethyl)benzoate has been shown to inhibit the growth of cultured human cancer cells by binding to their DNA and blocking the synthesis of proteins necessary for cell division.
