4-(Bromomethyl)quinoline is a catalytic agent that is used in organic synthesis for the production of various products. It can be used to produce hydrazones, phenacyls, and dibromides. The product is then transferred to another molecule by an indian-rubber tube or other means. 4-(Bromomethyl)quinoline has been shown to react with lepidine to form stereogenic reaction products. This compound has also been shown to form x-ray structures from dibromides.
