4-(4,4-Bis(4-fluorophenyl)butyl)-N-phenyl-1-Piperazineethanamine trihydrochloride is a nonnarcotic analgesic that is structurally related to fentanyl. It binds to the serotonin transporter and inhibits the uptake of serotonin into cells. This leads to an increase in serotonin concentration in the synapse and hence an analgesic effect. 4-(4,4-Bis(4-fluorophenyl)butyl)-N-phenyl-1-Piperazineethanamine trihydrochloride has been used for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and depression.
