Descrizione

Veratrine HCl is a vasoactive intestinal peptide that binds to ganglia and produces whole-body effects. It is an inhibitor of chloride channels, which leads to increased acetylcholine release. Veratrine HCl is a potent competitive antagonist of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in the heart and brain, leading to decreased cardiac and serotonin activity. The drug also has a depressant effect on the central nervous system. Veratrine HCl increases the amount of chloride in the blood and expiratory flow by inhibiting choline uptake into cells. It is used as an analytical method for measuring triazine herbicides.
