5-bromo-1,3-difluoro-2-iodobenzene is a heterocyclic compound that has been computationally analyzed. The compound was shown to be reactive in the Suzuki reaction with boronic acid, leading to the formation of a new intermediate. This intermediate was then shown to react with chloride ion and electron-deficient alkylating agent to produce a highly substituted heterocycle. 5-Bromo-1,3-difluoro-2-iodobenzene also has transport properties that have been studied experimentally as well as computationally. It exhibits electron transport behavior when it is used as an intermediate for x rays and other types of radiation. The experimental study also showed that this molecule reacts with an electron donor to form an electron transfer complex and can be used for the synthesis of biomolecules such as DNA or RNA.
