Descrizione

1-Benzyl-5-oxopyrrolidine-3-carboxylic acid (BA) is a potentiator that has been shown to have antihypertensive properties in animals. It also has the ability to transport drugs across the blood brain barrier, which may be due to its hydrogen bonding capability. BA can act as an enantiopure and is chiral, meaning it has two different optical isomers. The optical isomer of BA that exhibits antihypertensive effects is not yet known. The most common use of BA is in the optimization of pharmaceuticals with regards to their potency and efficacy.
