4-Bromo-N-phenylaniline is an amine that can be used as a starting material in the synthesis of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and other organic compounds. It is also used to make 4-bromoaniline by reaction with aniline and formaldehyde. 4-Bromo-N-phenylaniline has been shown to react with boronic acids in a cross coupling reaction to form diarylamines. This compound can be purchased as a reusable solid or liquid. The energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analysis of this compound shows it contains carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and bromine atoms.
