1-Boc-3-[(dimethylamino)methylene]-4-oxopiperidine is a nasal decongestant that is used to shrink the nasal passages and relieve congestion. It is also used in postoperative care to reduce swelling in the nose and sinuses, as well as for pediatric patients with colds or allergies. 1-Boc-3-[(dimethylamino)methylene]-4-oxopiperidine has been shown to have receptor activity and may be an effective treatment for inflammatory diseases such as asthma. This compound does not dissolve in water but can be mixed with solvents for use. 1-Boc-3-[(dimethylamino)methylene]-4-oxopiperidine is inexpensively manufactured from readily available starting materials, which makes it ideal for large scale production.
