2-(Bromoacetyl)-6-methoxynaphthalene is a fluorescent derivative that can be used as a sample preparation reagent in the detection of human serum albumin. This conjugate has been shown to bind with high affinity to fatty acids, and it can be used as an analytical method for the determination of these substances. It is also useful for the detection of myeloma cells, which are cancerous plasma cells.
