Descrizione

(+)-Bis[(R)-1-phenylethyl]amine is a chiral amine that has been synthesized in an asymmetric synthesis. The initial step of the reaction involved the deprotonation of (S)-2-amino-4-(phenylethyl)benzoic acid with butyllithium, which produced the racemic mixture of 1-(phenylethyl)piperazine and 1-(phenylethyl)pyrrolidine. This was followed by a chiral resolution, which yielded (+)-bis[(R)-1-phenylethyl]amine. The reactions were performed in aqueous solutions using phase transfer catalysis to produce an enantiomerically pure product.
