Descrizione

Bremelanotide is a synthetic cyclic peptide that is used for the treatment of female sexual dysfunction. It affects the physiological effects of sexual arousal by increasing blood flow to sexually sensitive tissue, and it has been shown to be effective in women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder as well as those who have not responded to other treatments. Bremelanotide binds to melanocortin receptors, which are expressed in the brain, on genital skin and in the pituitary gland. The drug has no significant interactions with other drugs and has a short half-life, making it suitable for use as an on-demand treatment.
