Descrizione

4-tert-Butylbenzylamine is an organic compound that binds to the benzene receptor. It has been shown to have a high affinity for this receptor, which may be related to its biological properties. 4-tert-Butylbenzylamine can bind to the benzene receptor in the presence of lanthanum chloride and 13C NMR spectroscopy was used to confirm this binding. This amine can also react with chloride, forming a primary amide, which is then hydrolyzed by water molecules. 4-tert-Butylbenzylamine forms a secondary amide through reaction with methylamine, which is then reduced by methanol or ethanol to form an unsymmetrical amine. Photocatalytic activity may be related to its ability to produce singlet oxygen from triplet oxygen using visible light as an energy source.
