Descrizione

1-Bromo-2-(2-bromoethoxy)ethane is a gemini surfactant that is used as an antimicrobial agent in a wide range of products. It has been shown to have light emission and proton stability, which are important properties for the use of this compound. 1-Bromo-2-(2-bromoethoxy)ethane also has ether linkages that allow it to be more stable than other surfactants. 1-Bromo-2-(2-bromoethoxy)ethane has been shown to have protein-protein interaction, which makes it an effective detergent for removing proteins from surfaces. This compound also has antibacterial activity against bacteria such as E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus, but does not affect the bacterial membrane or dehydroabietic acid production.
