(R)-(+)-1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)propane is a chiral phosphine ligand that is used in asymmetric synthesis. It is an x-ray crystallography and nmr spectra of the diastereomers. The protonation of the ligand has been shown to be pH dependent and can be enhanced by electrochemical data. (R)-(+)-1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)propane forms metal coordination complexes with a variety of metals, such as copper, zinc, cobalt, nickel, palladium, and platinum. This compound has been shown to have optical properties that depend on the type of metal complex formed.
