Benzenesulfonyl hydrazide is a compound that has been used as a fluorescence probe for the detection of thermal expansion. It is also an oxidation catalyst. The compound has shown to inhibit the transport properties of sodium citrate. Benzenesulfonyl hydrazide reacts with polymaleic acid to form a white precipitate. The x-ray diffraction data of benzenesulfonyl hydrazide suggests that it may react with hydrochloric acid and hydroxyl groups.
