Descrizione

(R)-Bendroflumethiazide is a drug that belongs to the class of thiazides. It is a racemic mixture with two enantiomers. The (R)-enantiomer is the active form of the drug. It is an effective diuretic and antihypertensive agent that has been shown to decrease blood pressure by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidney. This inhibition decreases water retention and reduces blood volume, leading to a fall in blood pressure.

The following are some examples of ways to use bendroflumethiazide:

-It can be used for treatment of high blood pressure or edema associated with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, or nephrotic syndrome.
-It may also be prescribed for patients who have had surgery on their urinary tract, such as prostate surgery or bladder surgery.
-It can be used as an adjunctive therapy
