Baquiloprim is a new reactive functional group that has been shown to be active against microbial infection. It has been used as an experimental drug for the treatment of bacterial infections in animal models. Baquiloprim has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to inhibit tyrosinase activity. Baquiloprim also has a strong affinity for fatty acids, which are involved in the synthesis of cell membranes, and could be used as a growth factor. The mechanism of action of baquiloprim is not yet known but it may act by blocking tyrosinase activity or by inhibiting the formation of nitric oxide or prostaglandins.
