Descrizione

tert-Butyl N-succinimidyl carbonate is an inducer of metalloproteinases that can be used for the preparation of glycopeptides. It is insoluble in water and organic solvents, and stable at room temperature. The tert-butyl group reacts with amines to form a stable carbonate ester. The succinimide moiety undergoes hydrolysis to release nitrogen gas, which is then trapped by the tert-butyl group to form a stable carbamate. This product can be used as a reagent or solvent for the synthesis of pentasaccharides.
It can also be used for preparative electrophoresis.
