Descrizione

5-Bromosalicylamide has been shown to be an antihistaminic agent that inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells. It is a synthetic hydroxamic acid, which belongs to the class of antimicrobial agents. 5-Bromosalicylamide has shown antitumor activity in tumor xenografts and also inhibits the growth of cancer cells by blocking their ability to synthesize protein. This drug has been shown to inhibit histamine receptor 2 (H2) and may act as an H1 antagonist.
