(S)-2-Benzylsuccinic acid is a crystalline compound that has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in mice. It is an amide with inhibitory properties. The only chemical group present in this molecule is the carboxylate, which binds to hydrogen atoms. (S)-2-Benzylsuccinic acid has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on peptide binding and inhibitor binding, as well as being able to form hydrogen bonds with other molecules.
