Descrizione:
2-Bromo-5-nitrobenzotrifluoride is a colorless, crystalline solid that has a molecular weight of 180.07 g/mol. It is soluble in water, ethanol, and ether. The hydrochloric acid salt of 2-bromo-5-nitrobenzotrifluoride has been shown to be an effective reagent for the synthesis of polymers with different properties at temperatures from -100 °C to +100 °C. This compound was also used as a polymerization initiator in deionized water with hexahydrate, which showed birefringence in the presence of magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
2-Bromo-5-nitrobenzotrifluoride has been reported to be synthesized by reacting fluorine gas with nitric acid in the presence of activated copper (II) oxide. The filtrate from this reaction is cooled
